About 2 p.m. on the 10th. April last, I was
in the Charge Room at the Central Station, when Mr. Lo, clerk in
to the Attorney-General, came into the Charge Room, and said
that he wanted to charge some person with stealing his umbrella,
he then walked out of the Charge Room, and down the street. Mr.
Lo had the appearance of having been drinking heavily, and was quite muddled. After Mr. Lo had left I went to the Police
Canteen, and found his umbrella, and reported the finding of
the umbrella to lir. Lo by telephone. Mr. Lo rang up several times
on the Telephone asking the Inspector on duty, to send a
Detective to see him, as he had some very important information to give; but Inspector Murison knowing the state Mr. Lo was in,
refused to send a Detective.
